I thought your work looked familiar! You're the same artist who created "Mordecai y Cj Regular Show", which I added to my collection back in March. It's good to see these new pieces by you.
Regular Show is full of interesting characters with unique designs that appeal to those watching. For me, a spectacular sight was how Mordecai and CJ fell in love.
These two characters, who hadn't seen each other for two seasons, met again unexpectedly, and from there a friendship was rekindled, offering so much possibility. What was even more amazing — their feelings for each other grew and blossomed into love. Mordecai was able to move on from the heartache that took hold when Margaret left and learned to find love in someone new. CJ, in addition, was given another chance to be with the man she had bonded with back in Season 3's "Yes Dude Yes." These two really helped each other, and watching how their relationship grew was extraordinary. They weren't fawning after each other, their feelings grew naturally and realistically. They were as normal and relatable as two people could be.
But then . . . Season 6 arrived, and with it came so much uncomfortable romantic drama. I won't lie: the sadness, depression, and empty feelings were torturous to endure. It felt as if you were slowly and painfully watching something beautiful fall apart at the seams. And to think, it was all summed up with one of the most ambiguous pieces of dialogue I have ever heard in a cartoon, let alone Regular Show:
I hope and pray, with all my might, that CJ reappears in Season 8, even if it's only for one more episode. Though they're not a couple anymore, I hope CJ and Mordecai can make peace and be friends. We'll just have to wait and see. . . .
Now for the art itself!
I love the pinks and reds. They go well with CJ's clothes and hair, which looks surprisingly lovely with a ribbon. And, of course, Mordecai looks good in a tuxedo. I'm guessing this must've been after their date in "Real Date", which would explain why their clothes are a bit ragged. Good reference to a good episode!
For a small bit of constructive criticism, perhaps CJ's hand looks a bit flat? By flat, I mean two-dimensional. But that's about all I can criticize.
All in all, a fine job! Keep creating and be happy! Regular Show returns on September 26th. Enjoy it for all it's worth.
